People love traveling, most of us try to go for a local or international trip annually. Bad thing is that we often miss out due to work, school, financial problems. Even if we go good trips are ruined because of lack of information, bad deals etc.
From my personal experience today’s internet provide us with great websites that helps us find the correct flights, tickets, reservations, information of the place, maps and hundreds of things that makes traveling easy. I would like to share few of them that has helped me almost in all trips that I have done recently.
Airfares and Hotels Comparison
Kayak is an aggregator that fetches fares from the travel booking sites. It also tracks hotel fares and other travel methods.
Farecompare Decide how much you want to spend and when you want to travel, and farecompare.com will display the lowest fares pulled from more than 500 airlines (most of the major U.S. carriers, as well as many international ones) for a select range of cities.
Makemytrip is the best travel booking website in India. I have booked several tickets for different destinations. Its best because you’ll get the lowest fares guaranteed. Also international destinations tickets, hotels, etc can be booked over here.
CheapTickets is another great travel booking website where you can find as the name suggest cheap deals.
Mapping tools
Maps.google.com If you going out to places where you have never gone before, GoogleMaps is a must have mapping tool. Google Maps gives you clearly designed maps with driving instructions, addresses, phone numbers and Web sites for what you’re mapping. Yahoomaps, MapQuest are good alternatives.
Weather Forecasting
Weather.com Weather does the best job of giving upto date info on the latest weather conditions on nearly 98,000 destinations worldwide, updated every 20 minutes. Worth mentions are Accuweather, YahooWeather.
MoneyConversion
Xe.com is a conversion application of 180 currencies from 250 places, updated every minute.
Information and Advice
WikiTravel is a wikipedia for travel buffs. With over 18,000 travel guides and articles written and edited by regular travelers from around the globe. You can find reviews of almost anything here.
LonelyPlanet is another great travel information website which catalogs thousands of travel guides. It also gives travel related tips, advice.
Miscellaneous websites
Flightstats is a website that tracks your flight and other travel information like airport delays and travel tips.
TheBathroomdiaries.com is a quite funny travel information site, silly is the correct word. It lets you search through over 12,000 public bathrooms in 120 countries whats good and whats bad.
ATMLocator A free service from VISA that lets you instantly locate ATM cash machines in your vicinity.
TripIt is a personal travel assistant that automatically organizes all your travel plans, it lets you organize ever aspects of your travel from weather, maps, restaurants and more.

Cleartrip.com is a better site than Make My Trip. Make my trip is toOoo crowded and very confusing. My personal take.

cleartrip is good but the prices aren’t that compelling like makemytrip
You can even get your self a nice hotel and then travel from there with their help .Most of the time this is a safer and more reliable option
xe.com is a very handy and, most important, quick converter
don’t forget of msn maps, it’s good as well and with the bird view can really give you a clear idea of where you are and where’s what you’re searching…
