Google launches Official Themes for Chrome

Google’s open source web browser browser Chrome is gaining popularity and google spiced up things a bit with the launch of the official Theme Gallery for Chrome. There are 29 different themes to chose form but Unfortunately, most of theme packages do nothing more than changing the colours of the existing interface and most of them looks quite horrible. These themes only work on the latest developer builds ( 3.0.193.2 or above). For those who were waiting for some new and eye candy themes all these 29 themes will be bitter disappointing. With horrible and awkward colour combination’s in some themes sometimes it becomes even difficult to see tabs properly, making you wonder if the themes were designed by bunch of 5 year olds. Another frustrating fact is that none of these themes do not change the look of the buttons, icons, font or any other such element of the entire Chrome skin it simply changes the background colour of the skin.

Installing themes is quite easy similar to any other browser, all you have to do is navigate to the page in your Chrome browser and click on the ‘Apply Theme’ button under a particular entry. The browser will automatically download the theme and shortly it will be applied.

You can get these themes from official Theme gallery
