Assam-Calcu  is an all purpose windows based programmable calculator developed using Visual FoxPro 6 platform. It is capable of performing simple to complex scientific and mathematical calculations within seconds and can also be programmed to to solve complex mathematical expressions like the The Morse potential energy function given below:

and other similar complex expressions.

It may also be easily programmed to run hundreds of calculation-steps in one go by using the innovative Re-run command. Assam-Calcu easily stands out as one of the most powerful calculator for windows out there, but the long learning curve and dull User Interface is its biggest let down compared to other alternatives such as HiDigit. Nevertheless I think Assam-Calcu is the best choice for dealing with complex and advanced technological computations but using it for for day to day simple mathematical calculations is too tedious or sometimes feels unnecessary. Operation in Assam-Calcu is done by the execution of a simple command-line (like, ‘Answer = 673*249655′), or  (”Answer=d*(1-exp(a*(re-r)))*(1-exp(a*(re-r)))” ) in later the variables in right hand side ie the variables d,a, re and r are predefined before execution of the command line. Assam-Calcu may not be as easy to work with as your typical calculator software but it is still capable and accurate enough like any other software of its kind. Another great feature worth mentioning here will be that you don’t need to retype the same command-line again and again for the next set of calculations because once you use a command-line the program stores it permanently and all you need to do is change the variables and re execute the command-line from history (ie by clicking on the get_old_comm button and selecting the desired command from the command list. Some of the best features of Assam calu are:

• Re-run command ( to run multiple calculation-steps at once)

• Custom constants and variables

These awesome features makes Assam-Calcu stand out as one of the most reliable scientific calculator for windows. But apart from these there are clearly some areas which it could be improved, some of the areas in which I feel it needs to improve are:

• A more user friendly and simple interface
• Multiple interface languages would be nice
• The help file is very confusing at times especially if you are not from a mathematical or scientific background ( help and tutorial should be explained with some appropriate screen-shots)
• A video tutorial would be welcomed
• Assam-Calcu for mobile phones would be hugely helpful.

MergePDF is a quick and hassle-free online tool for combining your documents in case you don’t have Adobe Acrobat or other PDF manipulation tools. Users who are in need of a quick PDF merge this tool is a good option though it has some small limitations. You can only work with ten files that are 5MB or less for each merge you perform. After finishing the merge you download the document, the original files will be deleted. This process isn’t as fast if combined them on a local computer with professional software but fine nothing the less.

If you don’t mind these smalls limitations, its a pretty decent solution for everyday use.
