Adding Text Watermarks To Your Flickr Photos

Do you know Picnik is a third party app that fully integrates with your Flickr, Photobucket or Webshots account letting you do lots of awesome things, from simple fixing to advanced features to fine tune your pictures. Now I’m gono show how to watermark a image on Flickr using Picnik.

water mark images via Flickr

First make sure you authorize Picnik inside Flickr. To watermark a image on Flickr, click the “Edit Photo” link to open that photograph inside Picnik.

Now Go to Create -> Text and type the text. Now select any font from the drop down and then drag the Fade slider to around 50 to 60%. This make sure that your text is slightly transparent so that the image portions beneath it are also visible.

When you are good to go, Picnik is smart enough to ask if you wanna overwrite the original photo or you can create a new picture with a the watermark leaving the original one out of harm’s way.

Sounds like a useful new function! Is there any chance to apply the same watermark to all of your Flickr photos? I tried to find it but without success. Could be painful exercise otherwise to manually touch all (maybe hundreds) pictures.

A similar problem seems PicMarkr.com has a well. Okay, you can chose up to 10 pictures to process at the same time, but it only allows you to create a new picture. If you have your pictures a while on Flickr already, you will lose all the view stats and existing comments.

So both not sooooo useful. Hm. :-/

Cheers from Bali,
