13 must have applications to capture Websites Screenshots
Taking screenshots for your tutorials or usual posts is a pretty tedious process – doubly so if you have a blog or work as a journalist. The simple process that starts from taking the shot to editing and atlast optimizing is a very time consuming affair. However, there are several tools that make screenshot capturing a easy work.
Standalone Programs
SnagIt – I’ve been a huge SnagIt fan for a long time. It’s a staple ingredient in my must-have list of tools. Definitely one of the best programs for screenshot capturing. The Snag is it costs 39.95 bucks, but you can try out a free trial version before buying.
HandySnap – Another Snag It like application.It take snapshots of any portion of the computer screen and lets you insert comments and various graphics to captured images.
Paparazzi! – a tiny application for Mac OS X that lets you take screenshots of web pages.
WebShot – a program that allows you to take screenshots and thumbnails of web pages or whole websites. Its main prowess is its powerful command line utility which enables you to automate the process of taking screenshots.
FastStone Capture – a powerful utility for taking screenshots with a floating control panel, lets you capture anything on the screen including windows, objects, full screen, rectangle regions, and even freehand-selected regions.
PrintKey – replaces your print screen function with a better one with more features.
InstantShot – an advanced but freeware application for Mac OS X.
HyperSnap-DX – a screen capture and image editing tool for Windows. It captures screens from standard desktop programs and even those hard-to-grab in-game shots. And its text capture (TextSnap™) from places where normal text copy is not possible, is a boom.
FireShot -A Firefox extension that creates screenshots of web pages. Unlike other extensions, this plugin provides a set of editing and annotation tools, which let users quickly modify captures and insert text and graphical annotations.
Save as image – another cool Firefox plugin that lets you save a page, frame, or part of either as an image directly from Firefox.
Snissa – simple Firefox plugin for taking web page screenshots.
Screengrab! – a plugin that lets you save visible part of window, the entire page, just a selection, or a particular frame of a webpage.
Picnik for Firefox – if you use online image editor Picnik this Firefox plugin enables you to easily import a screenshot of the currently opened webpage into it.
Internet Explorer Plugin
ieSnapshotter – a shareware plugin for Internet Explorer that allows you to take screenshots and thumbnails of web pages.
